Stuart Ferguson Late Summer 2009 Newsletter

Hi Everyone,

Exciting news to report and a couple of shows coming up in the next few weeks.

I've been chosen as one of five finalists for the 2009 Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest to be held during the Boston Folk Festival at UMASS Boston on Saturday, September 12. Phil Punch will join me to perform "God's Plan" that evening as we go for the top spot and a chance to play on the main stage of the festival the following day. You can hear "God's Plan" at

For folks who don't have a copy of my album "Shackles & Ties" I have enabled the download feature on the ReverbNation site in case you'd like to grab an mp3 of the song.

Work on the new album, which I'm calling "Love Songs & Other Tall Tales" at the moment, is coming along nicely. Phil Punch, Lori Diamond, and Fred Abatelli have helped hash out the first six songs and everything sounds good so far.

Shows in the next few weeks include a visit to Perks Coffeehouse in Norwood, MA tomorrow night, Friday, August 28. Perks is a great venue for acoustic music and they have amazing coffee and can provide a great meal. The Fashionistas (Phil Punch, Lyn Ferguson, Lori Diamond, and Fred Abatelli) will be along for the evenings festivities.

Phil, Lyn, and I will be joining Lori and Fred for a set at Tom's Eatin' and Drinkin' Place in Northborough, MA on Saturday, September 5 at 6:30 PM. Joe Fredette is the headliner that night.

We would love to see you at one of the shows or the Boston Folk Festival on September 12.

Be well,
